"Bootcamp has really been good for me... I lost 20 pounds.
But it is not just the weight lost, it is about the life-style change with the help of Bootcamp. I never thought I would say this, but I have a lot of fun working out!!! If I don't do it, I feel moody, upset, irritable, and worst of all, I feel much more tired during the day. It is funny how early morning exercise will actually help with the energy level for the rest of the day.
I used to think that if I deprived myself of one hour of sleep, I would not make it in the day...Well, the opposite has occurred. I feel more energetic and happier. When my alarm goes off in the morning, the one thing that helps me get out of bed is knowing how much fun exercising with a great group of people will be and how alive I will feel afterwards. I know now that I will never go back to the way I was for almost 15 years (overweight and unfit).
I plan on continuing for the rest of my life. I need Bootcamp to get the support of my trainers and fellow bootcampers." Giovanna Yaranga (Teacher)

I LOVE your boot camp. It's the best thing I have done for myself in years, literally. I feel stronger, significantly more fit and my energy has increased well beyond what I expected. I can't say enough about the program you've designed and how well it works for any fitness level. Boot Camp is tough, and AMAZING!

I know my weight is way down.. Measurements. I figure they must be down too. I've had to sell all of my pants!

I'm very happy with my results and just want to keep it going...everyone here at work asks me how I'm liking boot camp and I tell them I'm a lifer. Thank you for putting such a great program together.

My husband travels frequently and he actually tries to arrange his flight schedule around boot camp since he knows how much it means to me! I love the time to myself, a time to feel good, a time to engage muscles you normally wouldn't and a time to socialize with some fantastic women."

I spent many years in a gym - running on a treadmill, spinning in the dark, using some weight machines. You have provided all the benefits that these machines can provide, but with the added sense of fun, making new friends and personal attention. I have no desire to return to the gym. Thanks Steve.

One of the major things I have learned is the difference between what I thought "pushing myself" was and what REALLY pushing myself is! I have also learned how having variety in your workout is so important. I feel that I have worked every muscle I have (a few I didn't know I had).

Adventure boot camp was a great experience. You have a great combination of being a task master but having a sense of humor and perspective. The best part was being pushed well beyond the aches and pains to a new level of strength and fitness. Old pains went away as we built up our muscles, new pains came and went until I realized that it was OK to push harder. I have run a 10-minute mile for 20 years. After 1 month of boot camp I'd knocked 1 1/2 minutes off my timed mile and doubled the number of pushups I could do. Most of all, though getting out of bed was hard, I had fun for the solid hour. I met other great women and found the loveliness of the morning light. Thanks for all of it-- it was by far the best fitness experience I have ever taken part in.

Since the start of my experience of boot camp, I have lost four pounds and the cellulose from my thighs! (It must have been those lunges). Thanks!

For the first time in my life, I've enjoyed the experience of running in a group. What an incredibly supportive environment this has been!

So excited to share my race results with you...I entered the Richmond Round Church 5K for Women, Sat. with no expectations because I haven't been running all that much. Figured I would finish ~35; didn't even push it. Imagine my surprise when I crossed the line at 32 mins, sprinting of all things with plenty of life left in me. Also, I'm down 5 pounds. So, thank you! I know the Boot Camp was the push that my body needed and I will stick with it.

I have a lot more endurance while running. My legs are physically stronger. I can actually see and feel a difference in my thighs. On a nutritional level I have implemented the protein/carb/fat at every meal/snack and have noticed a big change in how I feel especially in the morning. No more highs and lows. On an emotional level it's been totally exhilarating.

I definitely feel stronger. I feel muscles in my arms and legs that I didn't feel before! Also, I was proud in the first set of camps for cutting my timed mile from 10:01 down to 8:47, and of being able to do 28 "boy" pushups when I could only do a few before!

| Thinking about facing a new challenge every morning so early makes me realize I can face any challenge that comes up during the day. |
|
| I was proud I did Boot Camp FOR MYSELF - the person that all too often gets overlooked. |

Only two days into it and I already have a remarkable spike in energy. I find it amazing that although I routinely start my day at that time each morning, your program really provides an opportunity to clear the cobwebs and get a fresh jump start on the day. Maybe it's my increased water intake but my sense of concentration and focus have increased as well...can that happen in just two days?!! Whatever the case, it's a great feeling.

Boot camp has offered so much variety and challenge that for the first time in my life I actually enjoy exercising. I have seen a marked improvement in my running (breathing is much better). Seeing the results of my hard work in muscle tone and how my clothes fit is a huge reward!

I'm so happy to be running again after being injured a couple of years ago, and I am psyched about achieving a 7-minute mile. My personal goal is to be able to run a 5k race, which I will do on Sunday.

I enjoy the compliments from my friends. They don't say "oh wow you've lost weight", but instead say "you look great, you look fit and toned!!!!!"

I actually ran 3 miles today!! I'm so surprised at how easily I've increased the distance I can run over a couple of months. I appreciate all your support, and all that you give to make this a good experience for all of us. I can't tell you how much of a difference boot camp has made in my life, and the spirit you have brought to it has made all the difference. See you early in the a.m.!

Thank you for your continuous support in all of our effort to get fit and healthy. It has been so helpful to get your emails and articles. I have truly enjoyed spending my early AM hours with boot camp.

I like the fact that every participant works at whatever challenging pace is suitable for each individual. The only competition is with yourself! The individualized attention one receives is unlike your typical training experience. Rush to the stuffy gym after work, zone out on a treadmill and wait in line for equipment.....or wake up at dawn (it's not that bad!!) and get energized from a variety of morning workouts while watching the sun rise? An easy decision…
Thanks Steve!

| How do you quantify addressing a lifelong struggle with better fitness? On certain days, success came in the form of getting up the next morning despite internal fears of embarrassment about the personal level of fitness or the urge to catch an extra hour's sleep. Fortunately, the smiles and laughter of other "campers" and the shared lack of coordination at such an early hour made it easier. By the middle of the third week, the results of the nutrition plan started to pay off. My daily trek to campus was no longer marked by shortness of breath. The quality of sleep was better. Those jeans could fit again. I could hold the plank longer than the day before. The most important benefit was the recognition of the journey as a goal. Making fitness an equally important part of my life was a huge step in the right direction. - Ingrid |
Thanks so much for this boot camp. I was banking on getting in shape (which I am) but I didn't realize how much fun I would have!

Thanks Steve - the encouragement really helps. I think bootcamp is amazing and I am psyched that I decided to make the commitment. You are an excellent leader and I have really enjoyed every aspect of the program - although "enjoy" might be a strong word for getting out of bed so early - I have come to realize how great the time before 7AM is - and how much you can get done while the rest of the world sleeps.
See you Monday!

The first time I saw the time we had to be there…5:30 am, I thought, there’s no way I could ever do it. Then I thought about it and said to myself, Of course I can do it! It’s just a matter of getting used to. And I did. I was never late, and I didn’t miss one class. When you do something you never thought you could do initially, it gives you the self-confidence to take on more challenges. I’m getting ready for my second session, and can’t wait to see what else I can accomplish.
